Volknut (By Request)

This request came to me as a raw sketch, and a little bit of research revealed it to be an iteration of a Volknut, an ancient Norse symbol. It's a very complex symbol that requires a dissection to fit properly in the Black Ops emblem editor.

Layer 1: Square, red, outline (border)
Layer 12: Square, white, full (fills the canvas space).

Layer 2: Triangle, small, white (the black triangle in the dissection)
Layer 3-5: Thin rectangle, white (the blue lines in the dissection)
Layer 6: Strela, white, flipped (use the long end to go into the triangle)
Layer 7: Triangle, red (the top-right brown triangle in the dissection)
Layer 8: Triangle, white (the lower-right green triangle in the dissection)
Layer 9: Triangle, red (the bottom brown triangle in the dissection)
Layer 10: Triangle, white (the left green triangle in the dissection)
Layer 11: Triangle, red (the top-left brown triangle in the dissection)

When you start making this emblem, you might find it useful to color the background triangles (the ones which are white in the final version and green in the dissection) a different color to make it easier to see what they're doing.

This is a very complex emblem. Even with this tutorial, you will likely need to spend a significant amount of time tweaking the precise placement of the triangles and lines to get the proportions correct. Have fun!
